I've been playing guitar for a little over a week now. I bought my first guitar today. A Takomine D Series Dragon Acoustic. It's fantastic. I go to www.justinguitar.com . I find it's a great website for people wanting to learn. All online tutorial and all that. When I have a song I want to learn, and have no idea what the strumming sequences are... I learn form a girl I found on youtube that takes requests for songs. She's great. She goes through it all for you. I can't afford guitar lessons. I was always worried that I'd have to go to them to learn how to play the guitar properly, and my partner... is a piano player and still thinks I should go and get taught by someone. I read tabs, but I can read music fairly well. Tabs puts it there straight away for you, so I find it easier. Since I've been only learning for a week, I assume with practice... my confidence will grow with the chords. Then I will hopefully be able to see a tab, get a feel for the tune... and strum away at ease. Learning guitar has been a wonderful experience so far, and now that I've got my own guitar... I can't wait for the road ahead to learning Rhythm guitar :)
